Monday groups in Hoegaerdenzaal in Sportoase!

There’s an important change in the schedule of our classes from January on: the Thursday classes have been moved to Monday and the location for these Monday classes will be the great Hoegaerdenzaal in Sportoase (Philipssite)!

Juan Luis Guerra

Guerra is to my opinion one of the most interesting musicians of the Latin music area. Intelligence, sensitivity, humour, romanticism, beautiful melodies and orchestrations would be words to try to resume his music. Guerra comes from the Dominican Republic and his core business is merengue and bachata but for instance on his last album (La llave de mi corazon) there is mambo, salsa, etc. Great great music that you’ll still hear with pleasure within ten years or twenty … Here are some links:

new series and practise moment on Saturday in Sportoase!

This week new series of salsa classes are starting: there’ll be two new beginners 1 series (one on Tuesday, one on Friday), two beginners 2 series (one on Wednesday, one on Friday), a new intermediate 1 series (on Wednesday) and an intermediate 2 series on Friday. Check out ‘Schedule’ for more details and ‘levels’ for more info about the required level. If you have doubts about which level suits you best, call or mail us. You can always take a class in one level and then change if necessary.

This Saturday, 17th of November, there’ll be a practise evening in Sportoase (Jupiler zaal), starting at 8pm (at least until 1am). Great floor, good sono, large mirrors, big dance hall, the perfect location to practise and dance.

Ruben Blades

This week’s tip of the week could be Ruben Blades. Certainly one of the central musicians inside the Latin area. Often music that does not ‘give’ itself right away but afterwards … what a joy! Try his old music, try his new music, doesn’t matter, it all seems good. Very different styles, changing regularly, in other words: an artist.
